IntroductionWelcome to the Modern Naval Vessel Design Evaluation Tool website. This is a site that I have been putting together for many yeears to address issues related to the early stage design of modern (post WWII) warships.In general, for early stage ship design, naval architects often make use of various graphs, curves, charts, equations and/or algorithims to help them estimate the characteristics of a proposed design. There are many well regarding naval archiotectural refefence books, articles, papers, and theses available which summarize many of these estimation techniques. However, often there can be multiple different potential equations or algortithms available for estimating certain aspects of a design and it is not always easy to assess which method may be most applicable to the type of vessel that you are interested in. As such, I have been using this website as a location where I can store the technical data that I have collected on numerous post WWII warship designs, and compare that data to different estimating techniques to help provide guidance on which equations/algorithms, etc may be most applicable to these type vessels. Based on this I have worked to develop a set of very basic spreadsheets that combine alot of the information that I have collected to allow a user to;
